Rise Module 2, Subject 6: Positive Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices (Risemod2.6)


Description

Section 9 of the NDIS Act 2013 defines a restrictive practice as 

‘any practice or intervention that has the effect of restricting the rights or freedom of movement of a person with disability’.


By the end of this online module and face to face training, you will be able to:

  1. Recognise the safeguarding obligations around positive behaviour support.
  2. Identify and manage restrictive practices
  3. Apply a person-centred and least restrictive approach in decision-making processes
