Supporting professional boundaries for frontline leaders (MLN1B_L4_Reflect)

Description

Strong rapport is not the problem. Unclear roles are. Professional boundaries help workers build trust without creating dependence, secrecy or risk.

Professional boundaries are shaped through everyday leadership. As a frontline leader, your role is to help workers build respectful, trusting relationships while staying clear about where the support role begins and ends.

This means recognising early signs, having timely coaching conversations, and guiding workers back to safe professional practice before a concern becomes an incident.

This microlearning will help you:

  • Recognise early warning signs that a professional boundary may be blurring.
  • Understand how boundary issues can develop over time.
  • Coach workers in a way that is clear, fair and focused on learning.
  • Build a team culture where workers ask questions and raise concerns early.
  • Know when to coach, when to escalate, and what to document.
