L4_RISE: NDIS Frontline Leadership Training → L4_Rise_Implementing Practice Standards

Preparing for Audit: Core Module 1 - Division 1: Rights and responsibilities (MLM_audit 2__L4)

Description

Leading with rights and respect

Every person supported under the NDIS holds the same human rights as anyone else.

The right to:

  • safety,
  • respect,
  • privacy,
  • independence, and
  • dignity.

As a frontline leader, you:

  • are the gatekeeper of these rights.
  • protect and promote them on every shift.
  • influence how policies become practice and
  • how staff translate values into behaviour.

When leaders model respect and fairness, teams follow.

When you act quickly on concerns, participants feel safe. And

When you encourage choice and control, participants grow in confidence and independence.

By the end of this module, you’ll not only understand Core Module 1 of the Practice Standards, but you will be able to bring them to life through coaching, supervision, and culture.
