The Mirror not the Microscope: Strategy (ECC5)

Description

This training module is designed for executive and senior leaders in NDIS service providers. It introduces a practical approach to strategic planning by prioritising reflection on organisational identity and purpose before diving into problem-solving or tactical responses.

The key metaphor “the Mirror, not the Microscope” encourages leaders to step back, assess alignment, and re-centre their organisation around what matters most.

In disability services, it’s easy to fall into a “microscope” mindset:  zooming in on every mistake, every form, every non-compliance issue.

Clarity of identity must come before complexity of planning.

This course invites you to put down the microscope and pick up the mirror.

We aim to equip NDIS executive leaders with the tools, mindset, and reflection strategies to develop organisational strategy that is deeply aligned with purpose, values, and authentic leadership.

This module supports Execs to:

  • Understand the importance of starting strategic planning with purpose, not problems

  • Assess whether current strategies reflect organisational values and mission

  • Identify gaps between stated purpose and daily operations

  • Use reflective tools to guide purpose-aligned decision making

By the end, you’ll have practical tools to look at your work with clarity, confidence, and curiosity.

The goal is for your service to grow stronger from the inside out.
