Description
This level 1 introductory module is for all staff, front line or back office.
Mealtimes are important for everyone. They fuel our bodies and present an opportunity for social connection.
The NDIS Practice Standard Outcome states "Each participant requiring mealtime management receives meals that are nutritious, and of a texture that is appropriate to their individual needs, and appropriately planned, and prepared in an environment and manner that meets their individual needs and preferences, and delivered in a way that is appropriate to their individual needs and ensures that the meals are enjoyable".
In this short course, you will walk away with a basic understanding of:
~ What the Quality and Safeguards Commission expects when providing mealtime management and why
~ What is a good and safe approach to eating
~ How to identify the need for a mealtime management plan or extra support
~ What to expect in a mealtime management plan
~ How you need to respond in a crisis
